RWB 2019

How can we get involved?

Your school can join in by asking the children to dress up in red, white and blue and bring in £1. Please go to the Register page and sign up. It is important that you do this, even if you have taken part in previous campaigns, as we regularly contact all registered schools to update them on events and send them our specially prepared videos, lesson plans and other publicity material.

Do you have a theme for 2019?

Yes, we will be focusing on the D-Day Landings and a number of the most prominent battles forming part of the Normandy invasion (codenamed Operation ‘Overlord’) launched on June 6, 1944 (the most celebrated day of the war). By the end of August 1944 all of northern France was liberated.

We will also feature The Battle of Arnhem  (codenamed ‘Operation Market Garden’) that took place in September 1944 and the second battle fought in April 1945 when the city was finally liberated by the British 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division fighting as part of the First Canadian Army.

I understand that the next Red, White & Blue Day will take place on Friday October 4, our school is holding another event that day, can we hold ours on another date?

Yes, any day that suits your school calendar. If you need our specially produced Red, White & Blue Day stickers then please complete the form stating the date you require them and they will be sent to you in good time for your own event.

Our children are from many different ethnic backgrounds, is it fair to ask them to dress up in red, white and blue?

This is, of course, up to you but what we would say is this is really focused on the children, and you can use it as a chance to explain about the different lives and experiences children have.

Are you producing any publicity to help raise awareness of the campaign?

We will be producing several items including posters, activity packs and competitions. Once you have registered we will ensure that you are sent these publicity items when they are ready, you don’t need to register a second time but the first time, even if you have supported our campaign in previous years, is important so we have your details on file.
Previous items that are still useful can be found if you go to the front page, click on Downloads at the top of the page then on the various years to see what is still available.

Is there any other way we might raise more income from our event?

Once again we are working in partnership with Easy Coin to ask schools to get their pupils to bring in any foreign currency their parents might have at home in drawers. We have produced a poster, which is part of the Welcome Pack, which you can use to advertise this initiative.

Click here to get a separate copy of this poster.

You might also want to consider speaking to any local companies that you work with to see if they would like to get involved with your day. Perhaps they might like to match-fund whatever funds your pupils raise, or give a donation to add to your collection. Companies have corporate responsibility objectives and this might be part of their own plans to help the community.

Is it possible to get a high res version of the logo for our use?

Please click here for a copy of our logo, to be used only for this campaign. (Right click on the image and select ‘Save picture as’ to save the picture to your pc.

What about colleges and universities, are they able to take part in Red, White & Blue Day ?

We have been asked to include colleges and universities in the campaign and as a result an email will be sent out shortly, but in the meantime if you would like your college or university to take part please go to the Register section.

Is the event only open to school-children?

No, in fact we have a number of Clubs who wanted to take part and support our campaign. We know too that a number of organisations with Vets have also expressed an interested, please register as a club.

We understand that you will be running a Competition, can you tell me more about this?

We are still formulating our plans but we are already thinking about the following:
Design a Medal
Design a stain-glass window to commemorate the 2019 events
Design a series of uniforms for different situations:Sun/sand/forest conditions

These will be sent to all registered schools as soon as they are produced.
